Query: Rockwell, Ladd - New York
Surname(s): Rockwell, Ladd
Locales: New York, Wisconsin
Query Text:
My gg-grandfather John L. Ladd was married to a woman named Rachel, but we have not known her last name. We have indications that she may have been Rachel Rockwell, daughter of Elias, son of James, son of Adonijah.
Some records indicate that this Rachel Rockwell married a "Mr. Sadd," which may be a misreading of a cursive L as an S. We are searching for persons who know something about this Rachel who, if she in fact married John L. Ladd, was born in New York and lived in Wisconsin in the 1850-1870 time frame.
I know a lot about the descendants of John and Rachel Ladd, and may be able to help some Rockwell researcher bring this branch down to the present time.

Query: Related to Norman Rockwell?
Surname(s): Little, Rockwell
Locales: Washington
Query Text:
Hello---I am attempting to verify that the illustrator Eve Rockwell Little of Washington State was not a niece of Norman Rockwell.
My Internet research has led me to think that Norman had only nephews, although 1970s' and 1980s' marketing of Eve Rockwell figurines often included a statement that "Eve Rockwell is the niece of well-known artist Norman Rockwell".
I have learned that Norman had one brother, named Jarvis, who had only two sons, Richard Waring Rockwell and John Rockwell.
In the recent past, I have contacted the Norman Rockwell Museum. One of its staff members replied, stating that she did not have any information regarding an illustrator named Eve Rockwell and that Norman Rockwell did not have a niece.
Any information regarding Eve Rockwell would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Query: Rockwell, Drake - CT
Surname(s): Rockwell, Drake, Case
Locales: Connecticut
Query Text:
I have a direct ancestor named Harriet Rockwell-Dodge (1791-1887). I had found that she was a daughter of a David Rockwell and Polly Case of Coventry, Tolland Co, CT.
The info comes from a book called "Genealogy of the Dodge Family of Essex County, Mass. Volume 2, 1894-1898". I have attached a page from this book that shows other family info.
I had corresponded with Mark Rockwell about this and though has hasnt been able to find anything about this David Rockwell within the specified time period, he has suggested that my ancestor could be a descendant of Joel Rockwell and Sarah Easton Drake who married in 1741.
Hoping to get some help on this line. I feel im very close of breaking down this wall. Thanks

Query: Rockwell - CT
Surname(s): Rockwell
Locales: Ridgefield, CT
Query Text:
I have found the Rockwell line to be very confusing! My great-great-great grandfather was Jabez Rockwell, b. 08 Oct 1761 in Ridgefield CT. I have him as the son of Josiah Rockwell, married to Mary Scott on 25 Sept 1759 in CT.
I have Josiah born to Jabez Rockwell (b. 1712 in Ct) and Keziah______. I have Josiah as son of Thomas Rockwell and Sarah Rusco; Thomas the son of John Rockwell III and Elizabeth Weed; John III as the son of John Rockwell II and Wilmet Cade; John II son of John I and Honor Newton;
John I son of William Rockwell and Mary Marion Wyke.
My question is, is this correct? If not, could you please show me where I am "off"?
Thank you!

Query: Rockwell, Farley - NY
Surname(s): Rockwell, Farley, Vosburgh
Locales: New York
Query Text:
Dreama000@home.com posted a query in June 2000 regarding the marriage of John Farley and Susannah Rockwell.
I tried to respond bu tthe e-mail address is no longer valid - so I am sending my response to your site to be posted in case anyone is
interested and in case Dreama000 happens to look again.
I read your posting from 2000 regarding a certain John Farley who married Susannah Rockwell. Don't know much about John, other than he was a Reverend in Utica in the 1850's and was from Trenton, NY. He and Susannah had a daughter named Susan Jeanette Farley, who married my gg-grandfather, John H.Hobart Vosburgh, on 6/25/1850. They had two children, Marion E. Vosburgh, (F), and Frank S. Vosburgh, (who is my g-grandfather.)
I believe John's parents were Caleb Farley and Hannah Fisher and were married on 01-27-1772. They had another son named David, who was born on 14 Jun 1817.
I am trying to find out more information about John Farley as well, and whether or not Susan Jeanette Farley had any other brothers or
sisters.
Hope you still have this e-mail address.
Feel free to reply and send any info you might have gotten since you posted your query in 2000.
Regards,
Walter Francis Vosburgh

Query: Rockwell - Elkhorn, WI
Surname(s): Rockwell
Locales: Elkhorn, WI
Query Text:
Hi,
My search started with a Rockwell & Co's banknote signed by LeGrand Rockwell.
The search has shown that Mr. LeGrand Rockwell is credited with being one of the founders of Elkhorn, Wisconsin (the Christmas Card town) in the mid 1800's. Mr. LeGrand Rockwell is also credited with starting two banks in Elkhorn, one the site of an 1865 bank robbery that happened when the town was celebrating the end of the civil war.
I am searching, in vain, for more on LeGrand Rockwell and his family tree. I have found quite a lot in the History of Walworth County by Albert Beckwith, but not enough.
Any suggestions?
Thank You!
